Just a question for those who might have an idea:

I applied to Temple EA and got into honors with the full tuition scholarship. I'm strongly considering Temple because of this but I'm not ready to send in the tuition and housing deposits yet. I applied to Penn, Brown, and JHU RD and those schools don't post their admission decisions until late March into early April. I'd like to know if I got into any of those schools before committing to Temple.

If I were to wait until then to decide, would it be too late to get a decent room and find good roommates? I know it works on a first come first serve basis and wouldn't want to get stuck with a "bad" room if I decided to attend.

Congrats! I can’t help you but my dd is in a similar situation (we don’t even know what her scholarship is yet, but she’s been accepted via email). We know we are going to have to visit two southern schools again before the final decision can be made, but can’t do that until April vacation. There must be many other students who can’t decide until then. My older d, who is a senior(!) in college now made her decision at about 11:30 PM on April 30 when the final deadline was May 1.

My guess is if they are going into honors dorm, there will be a room for them but they will have less options to handpick their room and roommate.

I’m curious about housing. I just paid the academic deposit and the housing deposit. It says that in March my D will be able to access the housing portal. Is that what everyone is see when they make the deposit? If so, I do not know how much of an advantage you would have to paying the housing deposit now v. March.

Housing information isn’t released until sometime march. I know for a fact that Upperclassmen honors get guaranteed housing on-campus(if they want) and I’m pretty its the same thing for incoming freshman. To tell you the truth 1300(the honors dorms) are the best dorms unless you are willing to pay extra and live in morgan (Brand new Residence hall opened this year)

futuredoctor - What makes 1300 the best dorms? Just curious!
