I'm an incoming freshman and I didn't send in my housing on time which led to me losing my guarantee(I know I really screwed up). Long story short, I sent in my housing contract on June 6 and I was told I got put on the waiting list 2 weeks ago but I didn't. I finally got put on today and I wondering if the waitlist order is determined by who signed up for the waitlist first or if it's by whose housing contract was sent first? I'm really scared that I might not get housing and was wondering if there's anything I can do?

Thank You

I think the smartest thing for you to do would be to call Panther Central and ask how the waitlist works. They’re around 24/7 and have always been very helpful. If they can’t help you, ask for an email address for someone in charge of housing and ask that person if there’s anything you can do to make the process smoother or to ensure you will be housed.

Chances are the more proactive you are the more likely they are to work with you and try as hard as they can for you, but the rules are the rules and they may be limited.

Good luck, I hope everything works out for you!

Panther Central Online Contact form: (use this as a secondary attempt rather than a primary one, they will definitely help you faster over the phone.) http://www.pc.pitt.edu/contact.php

(And absolute WORST CASE SCENARIO, have your parents call and see if they can do anything to help. No matter how silly you feel or how much of a nag you think you come off as, the more you try and the more willing you seem, the more likely they will be to bend or dodge rules for you. They really do want your money, not to sound like a total cynic, and not housing you will definitely stand between them and your money.)

Alright thanks for the information. I scheduled an appointment with the supervisor tomorrow and hopefully something can work out.

Awesome, good luck!
