Housing Waitlist

I did a goof and did not notice the UCLA Housing Emails reminding me of the encroaching deadline to accept my housing offer. The emails were going to my spam folder, and I didn’t notice until I received an email in my inbox informing me of my “cancellation” and the fact that I would have to reapply on the wait list to get housing. I’m currently super stressed and nervous for the future >.< I applied immediately again once I got the email (May 15th) however I am still incredibly worried. I’m wondering if anyone knows the likelihood of me getting into any sort of dorm (I’m honestly not picky at this point).

-I’m an incoming freshman, but on the housing page it says there’s no guarantee for people who apply past the deadline kms
-How desperately should I be looking into Apartments? I really don’t want to live in an apartment but I guess I have no choice.
-I’m aware of the lottery system, but I’m not sure how scared I should be at this point.

any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi! I’m an international student stuck in the exact same position as you. I forgot about the payment deadline, and my application was cancelled. I immediately re-submitted my application. I’m super anxious right now because I really don’t want to live in an apartment my first year, also the rent is insanely expensive.
The housing website did say for freshmen, the order we are on the waitlist matters. So if we submitted it early, we will probably be fine? Also, I read from Reddit that someone from the housing office said almost all freshmen will have on-campus housing.
I’m calling the housing office after the holiday is over. I hope we get to know whether we make it or not early, and start to prepare for the worst soon, because the nice apartments are gone quick!
