Re: Capstone – I think most (if not all) Capstone scholars get placed in Capstone House. I know that this year they offered housing to 2nd year students also, although I don’t know whether or not they actually had any 2nd years choose to live in the dorm. And as always they had a few non-Capstone students… most had Capstone roommates, but some were transferred to Capstone from other dorms.

So what about honors college? The scholarship offer today definitely put SC higher on the list, and I’ve been accepted to the honors program, but I won’t hear back from 4 of my schools until April 1st. I’d kind of like to at least have all my options before me, before I make a decision, but if I wait that long, will I lose my chance to live in the honors dorm?

LCrocks, you can always go ahead and put in your housing application and pay your deposit now. If you later choose another school, $100 of the $150 will be refunded to you (there is a cut off date though - you can read about that on the housing page).

Priority deadline for Honors (and all other living learning communities) is April 1st, absolute deadline is May 1st. You still have a chance to get a spot. Probably a good one, because they reserve a lot of rooms for freshmen (I know some of my friends can’t get rooms here anymore because the rest are reserved for new students).

The 2nd floor of Capstone is reserved entirely for 2nd year Capstone Scholars. However, I am a Capstone scholar and I don’t know of anyone who has requested to live in the building and was a scholar and didn’t get accepted.

In case anyone’s curious/had my question, I asked on their facebook page and they said there was still room in the honors college; for freshmen, you have to apply by May 1st, and it goes by the date you applied to the university, not for housing. So regardless of when I submit my housing deposit, I’ll have the same spot in line. So I’m just going to wait until April 1st (if that’s the priority deadline, I guess I’ll decide the day I find out my other acceptances o.O). Thanks for the help & the facebook link!
