So a couple of questions about housing (not something I desperately need to know at the moment, but just out of curiosity). I know that enrolled students are sent the housing application based on when they paid their $100 dollar acceptance fee. Other than this, does anyone know if there are any factors that go into consideration when it comes to freshmen getting their first or second choice in housing? For example, are they more likely to put people with more classes on south campus in south campus housing, even if their first couple of room choices were on north campus?

Also, does the amount of financial aid received play a part on the decision? Is housing less willing to put people receiving more financial aid in more expensive rooms?

The main reason I’m asking this is because I would really prefer to live on north campus (or anywhere but south campus, honestly), and while I won’t be involved in either the honors or scholars program, I think focusing and doing better as a student would be easier for me personally if I lived a little farther away from most of the distractions. Even if you don’t know any of this information for sure, posting your own housing application experiences would be greatly appreciated :)
