Hi, I am filling out the housing forms now and I was wondering if anyone knew specifics about the dorms. For example, which dorms are supposed to be more social than others, largest and smallest rooms, etc. Thanks!

hey!,

i think the "party" dorm would be closest to radnor and it tends to be louder than the other dorms. merion is known as being quieter, and i know there are parties sometimes in the pems, but i don't think they're all too loud. erdman is mostly singles, so if you're trying to request one as a freshman, i'd say that i liked erdman and wanted to live there. erdman, rhoads and haffner all have dining halls, so if you lived in any of those places you wouldn't have to walk far for food. i lived in rockefeller this year and loved it, but the girls are really awesome everywhere...rock has two room doubles (where each person actually has their own room, but one person lives in the room where the door opens to the hallway), and the rooms in erdman are all pretty big... i don't know much about the general sizes of the other dorms- i think the rooms all really vary. rhoads is reeeally pretty (and overlooks the pond), and goes quickly in room draw at the end of the year. i ended up in a single as a freshman this past year, but on the bottom of the form where it says any additional info, i'd advise writing a lot about yourself and what you like and what any kind of an ideal roommate for you would be like... residential life usually does a really good job of matching up roomies, and they really read the forms. good luck!! :)
