Does any one know what a walkthrough double room is?

A walk-through double consists of one main entry door for two rooms. So one person has to âwalk-throughâ the other personâs room to access their door.

so its neither a single nor a double - somewhere in between?

Itâs like we donât even have to reverse engineer who you are anymore :p

WHAT??! lol what room did you have? iâm very excited!!!

^If I told you, youâd find out who I am, Mr. 1231 :p

Come on!! we should party. College Confi PARTY!!

LoL, this would be the most awkward thing in the world, you also asked which room I had (freshman year) which wouldnât tell you who I am, Iâm not going to tell you where I am this year, but I was in a Carman double freshman year and I then moved to Hartley soph year because I wanted a single. Who knows, I might just meet you randomly next fall. But I likely wonât because the freshman class is huge.

If you give me ten bucks, Iâll tell you where he lives

does anyone know how to figure out your address?
im from california and i got some shipping to doâŠlol

look urself up in the columbia directory

as for shipping⊠cool your jets for a bit. if iâm not mistaken, earliest move-in is the 25th for coop⊠and lerner only takes packages from new mailboxes 14 days in advance (7 if itâs bulk).

so⊠I know youâre excited⊠but you still have a few days to wait until you can ship stuffâŠ

oh⊠and free taqueria quesadilla if anyone can figure out who I am/where I lived last year.

youâre lucky Iâm not hungry.

haha⊠denz, you probably have the best shot as youâve been around as long as Iâve been postingâŠ

Which dorm typically has good views?

best views are JJ rooms on high floors facing campus

for freshmen? Any room on floor 8 or higher for any building will have good views, especially those facing campus. Anything on floor 11 or above in Carman or JJ will have particularly good natural light, as youâll be âabove the canopyâ in the urban jungle.

My son was in an LLC suite his freshman year. One of his suitemates is still his best friend 2 years later. I was surprised at the common living area and kitchen. I expected ânicerâ, but all the kids seemed to like it. My son chose the LLC his second year and got in a suite with his best friend and some other students he knew. There was one common bathroom for the whole suiteâŠkind of surprising to mom but not a problem for the suitemates.

momoffive.

So I was browsing the CU wiki and saw JJ and the LLC donât have A/C. As a Florida girl whoâd die without air conditioning, I found it hard to believe. Whatâs it like in the summer? Is it truly noticeable?

Also, I consider myself very introverted. But I donât want to not make friends my first year. But then I love my privacy and an ability to retreat if I need to. And Iâm certainly not a party/alcohol person. Any suggestions? And I thought I saw on Columbiaâs Housing site that Carman had twelve singles - are those for RAs or something?

And, on the subject of RAs, does anyone know how theyâre selected? Iâm wondering because I heard they get out of paying for the room or something along those linesâŠ

(Sorry for reviving a kind of old thread⊠=/)

Smartical,

There is more than enough social life in John Jay. I heavily recommend you try to get into this dorm.

I will write a longer opinion piece about the dorm differences when it actually matters. e.g. early April.
