Hi, I like Washington Univ. but not sure about their faculties and little worried about their location. I mean it is Illinois but yet far from Chicago. Do WU graduates get lots of opportunities of practicing architecture and how about their reputation?? Thx!

Broolilyn, You need a map. St. Louis is in Missouri! It’s pretty much smack in the middle of the U.S.

The M.Arch program at WUSTL is highly regarded.

This may shed some light on Broolilyn’s mis-perceptions: [The New Yorker, March 29, 1976](http://archives.newyorker.com/?i=1976-03-29).

BTW, WUSTL architecture is top-notch. They have been dedicating a lot of resources to the program. Cost of living (relative to other top programs) is also very reasonable.

momrath, StitchInTime:

Thanks! Now I am relieved and start planning my trip to WUSTL.

LOL. Great post, StitchInTime.
For the past several years, WUSTL has been ranked in the top 15 programs by Design Intelligence, which bases their rankings on employer reputation surveys, so yesWUSTL is very highly regarded in the profession.

Recently, WUSTL completed a thorough renovation and expansion of its architecture and art facilities, with several new buildings designed by noted architect Fumihiko Maki. In addition, the Graduate School of Architecture has been attracting some very accomplished faculty, including Bruce Lindsey, Kathryn Dean, and Robert McCarter. Its a great time to study architecture at WUSTL.

Enjoy your visit!
