3.57 gpa at community college. treasurer of the economics/finance club. part of the 1st place team for the community college Fed Challenge last year. my gpa could be a little higher but that’s where it stands right now. For those of you that attend Bentley now, how do you like it? Pros/cons? Thanks!

I am NOT a current student at Bentley;however, I have had experience with community college kids. Generally, community college is a bit easier, especially, in the sciences, then that of a good four year college or univeristy when it comes to grading. This is partly true due to the curve since a number of CC kids aren't of the same quality (GPA wise or SAT wise) as that of a good four year school. However, even this may vary when it comes to obtaining "As" since more top kids are attending community colleges due to the great tuition offered.

The work, however, is quite close to what you will see at any college because they use actual college text books. Frankly, I think the education is every bit as good as that found in a four year school.

As far as admission, you should have no trouble geting into Bentley with your CC GPA.

Thanks taxguy. I will agree, some of my classes have been easier than pie. But others have a fair share of their work. Mainly the history and literature classes. I haven't taken any science classes yet. I hope to take them at Bentley if I get accepted. They have a better list of classes to choose from that are much more interesting than those offered at CC, which are usually just the basics...bio 101, physics 101, etc. I've been trying to just take the core classes; history, writing, literature, psychology, philosophy, music, prep-math courses, macro/micro, and so on. We'll just say I am working as hard as community college allows haha. I know once I am at a 4 year school, hopefully, I can surround myself with good students which will help me to bring my level of work even higher. Cause let's be honest, most kids at CC usually just don't care and have no plans of getting into any decent 4 year school. Thanks again for your insight taxguy.
