How academically difficult is Chapman?

So here’s the back story. I was recently denied from all my top choices, asides from chapman. I am planning to transfer out of chapman after one year. My cumulative GPA is what killed me (3.21, will probably be a 3.3 by the end of senior year), but I’ve maintained a unweighted GPA of 3.9 for my entire senior year at a competitive private school. Will I be able to maintain a high enough GPA to transfer into a school like USC after 1 year? I plan to not party at all or do any activity that would possibility derail me from lowering my GPA. That being said, I still plan to enroll in clubs relevant to my future occupational prospects. I intend to transfer into the Marshall School of Business. Thanks

Are you better off starting at a CC?

To be honest, I did consider that option a lot, but came to the conclusion that I wasn’t willing to risk the possibility that I could be denied from all the schools I applied to, and then be forced to stay at a CC

Like with any other school, it all depends on your classes and your professors. Whats hard and/or stressful is that some classes require a B- in order to continue in the major. If you get less than that is kind of considered as failing.

I go to Chapman, and I think you should be fine. I know students at other universities who have had better luck applying to USC as a transfer than first year freshman admittance. Though, I do want to warn: Don’t spend your first year of college “playing interim.” I’d suggest going into Chapman with an open mind, knowing you have the option to transfer. Try not to go in thinking “Who cares, I’m closing myself off because I’m transferring.” Obviously, school is #1 priority, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying your first year of college, wherever it is! Chapman’s party’s aren’t totally rowdy, and going out once in a while is something you shouldn’t cut yourself off from! All I’m saying is keep an open mind, I’ve seen way too many people go into college with a bad mind set and end up not being happy even after transferring, and it’s sad! Who knows, maybe you’ll love it!

I heard in general that transferring from a 4-year college is more difficult than transferring from a CC. They know you are already at a 4-year college, while at a CC, it’s only a two-year college.
