Hi! Just wondering how I'm looking. I am interested in going to a small liberal arts school. I've looked at schools as competitive as UChicago, Swarthmore, and Middlebury, but I'd also be just as happy going at still great schools, but slightly less competitive ones like Gettysburg, Lafayette, and Skidmore.

Female, Caucasian, Middle Class
Go to an extremely academically rigorous independent school

I have taken as many AP/Honors courses as I could during Freshman/Sophomore year (and will continue doing so entering junior year), and my GPA is about 4.3, weighted. We do not rank.

The only standardized test I have taken so far is the World History SAT II: 760, but I obviously plan on taking more.

EC's

(in school)
Participated in all four award-winning theater productions in Fresh/Soph year, held large roles in the plays.

Newspaper staff both years, selected to be Junior Layout Editor next year. This position is one of the biggest commitments in relation to clubs in our school.

Yearbook contributor both years.

Founded a club sophomore year, planning on continuing that.

Recognized for achievements in French & English, including fourth place in the Grand Concours freshman year and second place sophomore year

(outside of school)
Published in Vermont Magazine based on a small memoir on my visit there post-Irene

Won Writing for Peace Award, Second Place (monetary prize + future publication in their journal in January)

Attended UVA YWW, Simon's Rock YWW
Accepted to go to New England Young Writer's conference, but unable to attend

Summer before freshman year, volunteered at a CSA, jobs included helping out with the toddler education program there.

Summers before sophomore, junior year, worked at an unpaid CIT at a theater camp, taught 1-3 graders drama/acting & helped the staff organize the camp activities.

Summer sophomore year, helped successfully published business author with her seventh book about collaboration by giving feedback & writing poems that may be published in that book with relation to communication styles.

Other things:
I consider myself a pretty good writer, so my essays should be good.
My recs should be excellent.
As for standardized testing, I am preparing to take the ACT. So far, it's looking like I should hit the 30s, but who's to say what's going to happen.

Obviously, I hope my GPA will improve and my grades overall will show an upwards trend. I realize a lot depends on what I do and how I do junior year, but I was just curious on how I'm looking based on my first two years of high school.

Thanks a bunch!
