I never regret what I did...i worked my butt off and it just didnt work out...i am happy that i took all those rigorouse courses...the only thing i would have done differently is ease of school and enjoyed more....
remember dont try to be what you see in cc...then that will destroy...dont think you have to be a over 4.5 gpa, 2200 sats dude. Just have fun and do well at that the same time

Wow, Anisha, I also brought up our state a couple of days ago in the Governor's School thread. Ugh. I hate budget cuts, even though they indirectly affect me.

cooljoe, don't worry too much about yourself - you're off to a good start.

Just two things I want to clarify -

If your parents are both doctors, evne if they're trained in India, it isn't really special, because they still got trained.

And if you want to make sure you're not rejected and not have to do a gap year (which shouldn't be the last resort for not getting into college anyways), just make sure you apply to a few saftey schools, that you'll be sure that you can get in.

I kinda already knew that second part. Could some JUNIORS or SENIORS please tell me what I need to do to improve? I have so much free time I think I'm enjoying myself waaaaaaaaay too much. I really need to get into HYP where they have grade inflation so I can get into a good med school!

bump..............

wow community college for you

oh, come on, be serious, guys!

You don't need to get into HYP. And you probs won't seeing how TONS of AZNs apply and they can only take so much. And almost all the AZNs take the same courses. Like I said, go abroad. Do something fun. Enjoy yourself. COllege isn't everything ;P

cooljoe, I often feel the same as you. Sometimes I wonder if I have way too much time on my hands. However, I think it might change for us once we finish 9th grade. I already have some activities planned out for the summer and beyond. You might want to also get a look at some activities you can join that deal with your strong areas.

bumpity bump bump

well coolio joe...i didn't read the entire thread but i smell some grade inflation problem for you there buddy.

Or you could just attempt to survive at Johns Hopkins, which I seriously doubt you and most on this forum would be able to do so. I can say that my level of anxiety has increased over school performance in general, but I can also say that my amount of time off has increased with my imposition of AP classes upon myself, and that junior year, while stressful, is easier than freshman year.

anybody else have some comments?

are you for real?

I think 7 pages is enough comments there buddy. We have all established that community college will be quite a reach for you.

wow. overachiever.

hmph

cool joe what school in houston do u go to. i'm going to school in houston for next school year in bellaire.

cooljoe, up until like a month ago, I was obsessed about doing everything to impress colleges (taking up instruments, sports, etc. to impress them) I never did, of course, cause I'm lazy, but anyways.....I've realized that you should do what you're interested in, because, do you really want to play an instrument you hate for 4 yrs just to maybe possibly get into Princeton, when you could enjoy your high school years and get into Penn or Cornell or something just as respectable? This is all hypothetical of course....but goddamn it, cooljoe, enjoy your effing life now while you can, because pretty soon, you won't be able to.

Cooljoe, is it another post made by your brother?

Please don't lie. I'm sure you are not Freshman.
