but i can choose any branch correct?

Yes, you can put down anything for your top choices.

Choose just about any branch, but you might not get it if your rank isn't high enough or you fail to ADSO when you need to.

There are certain branches that you can't commision in directly out of West Point. For example, Special Forces and Aquistion Corps both require people who have already been in the Army for a while.

what's a good major at west point? I have looked at hte list of majors. And the two that I really want to take are Leadership and Management. Has anyone taken any of these 2 majors? If so, how are they?

what are the most popular branches at west point?

peteyflow, are you already out of school? I live in NY and we don't get out for about another three weeks. My packets are almost ready but most of my congressmen/representatives want a final junior year transcript, so I don't think it'll hurt me to wait a little while.

I apologize if this sounds like a stupid question but I im not sure exactly what I have to do for these nominations. Can someone please, if you don't mind, explain in detail the process of writing to congressmen and senators for nominations? thanks

NBbulldog,

the best advice I can give you is to look up your senators/congressman online and read their instructions on how to request a nomination. each congressman has their own special way of doing things. For me, after reading what my congressman/senators wanted (basically it was an application which included a list of all my activities, my grades, personal statements, and a recent picture), I followed the directions to the letter. After the congressman /senators and their staff review each application, you may or may not be called in to be interviewed. If you make it pass the interview stage successfully, you may find yourself with a nomination.

hope that helped!
