How am I looking so far?

I am going into my junior year of high school.
Male, Caucasian, 16 years old.

3.7 Freshman year, both semesters, weighted (no ap's or honors)
4.3 Sophomore year, both semesters, weighted (4.0 unweighted)

I have really stepped it up sophomore year and plan to work just as hard the next two years to continue getting straight A's. So theoretically, let's say my overall high school GPA was rounded to a 4.4

4 - AP World History
Honors Chemistry

Will be taking the following classes the next two years:

AP Chemistry
AP US History
AP English Language and Composition
Honors Pre Calculus
AP Government
AP Calculus
AP Physics
AP Literature

Will be doing 4 years of Theatre Arts (Acting)

Speech and Debate Club

Varsity Tennis 3 years
Varsity (maybe, have yet to find out. junior year will be first year) Cross Country 2 years

Naval Sea Cadets for junior and senior year. I am going to an info orientation this weekend to join.

Have done community service here and there, 10th grade spring break consisted of doing a week summer camp with autistic children of multiple ages.

I know I have yet to take my SAT and ACT, and yet to find out what scores I will get on my AP exams, but I just want input on what I need to improve or what else I should be doing/taking in order to increase my chances of getting in.

You’re off to a good start. You need to work very hard to get Leadership positions, especially team captain, class leadership, club president, etc. That is what I see lacking at this point.

A few notes:

[ul][]Aim to get a high SAT/ACT score (like in the 2000/30+ range. Especially in the + range, ha)
[]Be sure not to overextend yourself
[li]Keep working hard[/li][/ul]

You seem like you’re doing well (admittedly better than where I stand :)). Don’t worry too much about your freshman GPA, they like to see an upward trend (and class rank is far more important than GPA anyhow). What’s your class rank/percentile?

Best of luck, I’ll be applying with you next year too.

What do you mean by overextend yourself? Like put to much of a load on my self?

And I wouldn’t know what to tell you I have no clue where I stand currently. I come from a high school that has as many kids as west point itself haha.

Exactly. I’ve heard of kids who aspired to go to colleges like West Point, Harvard, etc., and took tough classes, lots of EC’s, sports, all that, and then ended up not being able to handle it all.
