Anyone try those AP diagnostic tests on Sparknotes? I think they're probably too easy, but they make me feel optimistic. I did, like, half the Bio test in yearbook today before I got bored and started going to other sites, and it still have me a 4 when time ran out. Haha.

hahaha. yeah i did try that. said i could got a 5 in APUSH if i did well on free response. gosh, i hate free response....

would've brought your attention to that.

Somehow, today I increased my score from 32 to 52, from a 2 to a 3 today.

nns91, whatthe heck ur talking about (32 to 52)?
i think ur score increase b/c u learned from ur mistakes and learned something u were missing.

I did better on my AP Physics B practice exam, getting about 72% correct, while i got 62% right last time. but still, does anybody know how are AP Exams are scored? Is there a chart or something to show how AP scores are distributed?
proleteraiat, thanks for pointing out that to me.lol.

Look at your damn AP prep books or ask your teacher. for Physics B the threshold is around 60% for a 5. For a 4 the threshold is like a 46%. These are 1998 figures, but the percentage tends to hover around the same area.

sheesh, enderkin, no need to use profanity here. just trying to keep this thread alive....looks like i'm pretty much in the 4-5 scale, according to my damn AP prep books.

damn straight.

(i don't consider damn to be a profanity. also, i am exuberant. no anger here)

All the AP tests are graded differently. I still don't understand why people need to know stuff like this. Just do as well as you possibly can.

It actually is important because it alleviates stress in some cases. For instance, I aced the MC on the E and M last year but made a lot of careless mistakes on the FR. However, I was confident that I would get a 5 because I knew the cut-off was around 50%...the rest is history.

BTW, AP English = toughest cutoff. You need around a 75% for a 5.

ur right, piccolojunior, it does help to alleiviate some stress by knowing at least something.
