My guidance counselors want me to apply to Vanderbilt and thinks I can get in through ED 2.
I’m concerned about how asian girls are treated at vanderbilt. is there any hint of subtle segregation/racism? I’m not the type to segregate but I’m anxious about other people not willing to accept me.
And are asian girls admitted to the top sororities or are they mostly disregarded? or do asian girls not really get into the top ones? How are they perceived in sororities?
Open to any responses/any advice or information you can offer me

I suppose you can look through the sorority photos at V - https://www.vanderbilt.edu/greek_life/meet-the-greeks/panhellenic-council/
Sorry no firsthand experience.
Looks to me like your odds increase if you have straight hair.
^Ha, good observation. I wouldn’t have much chance, then!

No problem. To get into a “top tier” house, you just want to be pretty, skinny, and have a perky personality. Extra points for being wealthy.
And for those who don’t check the “mean girls” boxes, there’s plenty of other nice soriorities to belong to at Vandy.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the middle or even lower tier sororities or fraternities.
I have two daughters at Vanderbilt. They are Asian. Vandy couldn’t be more welcoming to them. No racial issues whatsoever. Their friends are as diverse as they come on every level.
The eldest rushed and was offered at her top 3 sororities. So easy. She chose her favorite. My youngest daughter just arrived at Vanderbilt in August. She doesn’t know if she will rush in Spring Semester. This is just a personal decision, rather than worried about being accepted.
I still have time to decide i’m only just a Junior right now, but thanks to all for your help! and if anyone from Virginia who goes there right now can answer some other questions it would be much appreciated
