How are my chances?

As a senior this upcoming August, I will be applying to UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, Pepperdine University, and University of Florida.

On my SATs, I scored a 590 in math, a 670 in critical reading and a 750 in writing. My GPA is a 3.67 and I am in the top of the 2nd quarter of my class. I also am in my school's highest level band, I am the captain of the color guard, and I am in FBLA and spanish club.

I live in Texas, and will be applying under a creative writing or communications and journalism major.

What are my chances of being accepted to any of my top choices for universities?

I wwas just about to say good chance at the UCs when I saw you were OOS, so reasonsably good chance if that's an unweighted or UC GPA.

Are you sure you want to pay $40K plus for one of those schools? Just as expensive as a private with nothing but Federal aid.

Don't know about Florida but Pepperdine looks like a 50/50.

You are not in the top 25%, you don't have great SATs, and you have a decent GPA. I'd say you your chances aren't very good at all at the UCs and not much better at Pepperdine and UF.

raise your SATs a little bit and FLA should work
