I had straight A’s in my freshman year, and it was pretty easy. I became confident in my plan to be able to attend Stanford or any Ivy League school. My GPA was 4.0, and my weighted GPA was 4.5. Right now I am on my sophomore year. The 1st semester is over in about 2 weeks. I have 2 B’s, one in English 2 IB, the other in AP World History. I have A’s in Algebra 2 Honors, Chemistry, and Fundamentals of Art. My GPA is 3.6, and my weighted is 4.2. How am I doing? I feel so stressed out about everything right now, and personally, I think I am doing a mediocre job. If I just worked harder, I can get straight A’s. I just tend to slack off sometimes, and not study thoroughly. I have given up in going to Stanford, and my goal is now UCLA, which will still be difficult. Give me your honest opinion. How am I doing? I want some criticism that can help me. By the way, I’m Asian, so it will be harder to get accepted into colleges.
We’re in the same position here. I’m also Asian, with grades similar to yours. Right now, I would focus on bringing up your second semester grades, especially in AP World History and your English class. Don’t try to study in long chunks of time. Instead, try short periods of intense study, with short breaks where you get up and move away from your study space.
get better grades the next 3 semesters and you’ll be fine
