from an objective point of view (i didn't apply to UofC and also, i'm a girl myself), UCLA would have the "hottest" girls. Chicago...the least...
there are actually a lot of threads on CC regarding this topic of guys/girls...just do a search on it. lolol.
but, chicago will have the best brains. lmao...i can't believe i just posted in this thread...

I haven't visited UCLA or UVA, but it seems Chicago students just don't have as much time to spend on personal appearance. When you have sometimes 6 sets of midterms and 3 sets of finals in a given year, with midterms ranging from 3rd week-10th week, you're going to have to give something up.
There are all different kinds of looks here, and that is what I love about Uchicago. Some people here care more than others about the way they look, and it shows. Then there are people who like to experiment with their looks. Overall, I think intelligence is prized over beauty, and most girls go for a more natural look.

one more thing, the relation between good looks and selectivity of the college is usually...well, usually inverse proportional (did i say that right?). USUALLY. ur bound to find exceptions but this is just the stereotypically accurate generalization. i bet ur gonna find attractive girls in Chicago. maybe just not as many as u will find in say...idk, ASU (from what i hear)...?

I went from grad school at UCSB to Biz school at UofC. I'm still suffering from shock 25 years later. :)

Things are definitely looking up compared to then, at UofC. You should have seen the crowd at graduation last week. It is amazing what a shower, clean hair (and maybe the presence of parents?) does to the look of the students!

I think a previous poster hit it on the head. The potential is there, the desire no. I even know of one recent UofC grad who was frustrated traveling in Spain with two fellow grad students last december, who told me, in frustration, that her travel buddies "spent too much time on their personal appearance in the morning..." I think that sums up the UofC attitude.

So guys, the solution? Book someplace nice for that date...not the pub.

hook ups hook ups hook ups

A parent's point of view from the New York Times:

Outside, patterns emerged dependent on the shuttle schedule. Women were usually in plenty of time; men rushed, hair still wet. Some boy was invariably last, running after the bus, disheveled, inexpertly dressed, maybe a half-eaten Pop-Tart hanging from his mouth as he flailed at the bus already moving from the curb.

One of these boys, misreading the time perhaps, was early. He bore a slight resemblance to my son, curly-haired, with the same calculated slovenliness in dress, his backpack half-open. He sleepily approached a group of three young women waiting for the bus, groomed, alert, ready for the day.

They saw him and immediately went to work. One buttoned his shirt, one patted and tugged his hair into place, one zipped the backpack so nothing would tumble out. They gave him the grief he deserved, and one leaned up to kiss his cheek. It was all I could watch. Moved, obscurely relieved, wondering who these young ladies were, and how I could introduce them to Michael, I got up, closed the window and went off to shower.

without reading past the second page on this thread, it seems to me that it has simply deteriorated into flaming the OP... with expansive diction. Honestly, it's a legitimate question... but one for one of your buddies that goes there or someone else willing to offer a response. You're kind of asking for it. Anyways, I'll be visiting soon. I'm psyched.

…just had to know, referring to OP’s question, so bump. I’m very glad to hear about a school with a moratorium on broads, as I come from the Valley, and they crawl all over here like worms in a cesspool. At the same time, I want a reason not to be surrounded by greasy dudes playing *Gears of War 2/i all the time. And of course, I need someone warm for the winter quarter!

And I reading that the guys at U of C are very introverted. Some metaphor about a squirrel. Anyways, maybe that’s exaggerated, maybe they are similar to the same guy you had in AP Calculus AB (you know who I’m talking about) who only had any female interaction around his mother. Tell me I’m right, as they might be making things easier for me (which would be nice, because I’ll make time).

I’d like to resurrect this thread again, and ask about the GUYS at UChicago. Current UChicago girls, anyone willing to shed some light here? Will I have to develop ChicagoGoggles (my school is infamous in our area for being a nerd school with very few reasonably attractive guys, and I’ve deveoped pretty thick goggles, and am hoping I won’t need a higher prescription at Chicago…)?

And is that second-highest abstinence rating (right behind uberconservative, religious colleges) really true? I wonder how they defined “abstinence”, hopefully not as anything under the umbrella term of “hooking up”.

If you’re going to flame my post, please find something better to do with your life. We’re all going to Chicago for the academics, not the partying/sex, but that doesn’t mean that we still aren’t human. cue “Human” by The Killers

Here is the Mr. Univiersity talent show sample from UofC. Best I could do.

What about the gay community at Chicago?

. .

@spazzity: Totally agree with you!

Don’t know about anyone else here but I’m freaking beautiful
