Harvard reported today that it received over 37,000 applications for a class of 1,700. It’s impossible to say that anyone is on the right track for the Ivies because the majority of applicants are all extremely well-qualified.

You won’t be applying for three more years. There is no way to tell based on 7 half year grades when GPA and transcript only account for one piece in a complex and secretive selection process

Any ECs? Anything you’ve done outside of grades? Any plans for leadership positions? The Ivy Leagues get thousands of people with the same GPA you have for your first semester. If you really want to go to an Ivy League, work on getting ECs, community service, leadership roles, etc. Like others have said grades only play a small part, and since thousands of other applicants to Ivys have great grades to it will be these outside factors that set you aside from them.
