^^ Lol technically neither does Dartmouth or Cornell. However, want to know a secret? The athletic people all apply early decision per their coaches wishes and a lot of them get in (the “recruited ones”). This is the reason for the difference in acceptance rate at the previously mentioned institutions. In actuality, for normal students the acceptance rate applying ED is not much higher than Regular Decision.

This isn’t speculation… the Dartmouth admissions lady told me this. They’re surprisingly honest over in Hanover.

I’m wishing I hadn’t been homeschooled for my entire life and trying to seem calm so my mom doesn’t completely lose it. I have no friends. I know things would have been better if I had gone to a normal high school. However, I am confident in my ability to get myself where I want to go in life, so these colleges can do what they like to me. I’ll show them in the end.

my life’s going great at the moment. i probably won’t be able to say that when school starts and i have homework, practices, and no free time haha.

Perhaps not, but a recommendation from an athletic coach certainly goes a long way. The way he described it, his recommendation would get my application “flagged”. Anything helps, especially with selective schools like MIT.

Sorry to hear about your sickness :(. What are some of your goals for the season?

My life is great. I go back to school Saturday and I feel like this is going to be a great year – I really like my roommate and am excited for all of my classes and can’t wait to see my friends. And I’m almost done packing, so this will be the first time ever that I’m not up all night before I go back to school packing last minute (well, I will probably still do that, but whatever).
