So entering college, I had a bad habit of just writing down notes on lectures and never actually looking at them until a few days before the actual exams. Although, before the exams I actually studied really hard for them and looked through all my notes. This combination of bad time management and being a procrastinator made me get a D in BOTH Gen Chem and Calc… Being a Freshmen and an Engineering major, you will know that those two classes are very important. Now I am forced to waste a whole next semester retaking both of the classes. Lucky if I retake both classes and get a better grade, it will replace the existing grades I had. On a scale of 1-10 how bad did I mess up? With being an Engineering major in mind.
I think the question is whether you can change your work habits to do better. Those are not the hardest classes you’ll see by a long shot.
You could very well have added a semester to your college years due to sequencing. So that is an expensive mistake.
You might be able to catch up by taking some summer classes.
Did you do the problem sets? That’s where I did most of my learning (sometimes referring to notes).
