How Bad Off Are Law School Grads?

don't know if this is the best place to post this for most of you are enrolled in law schools/already on the law path but..

Im going to try to keep this simple.

As a current Junior in HS I plan on going to law school after i complete my undergrad majoring in political science. But the one thing that scares the crap out of me is the job outlook for law school grads.

Yes, i know you can finish law school and have 10's of 100's of thousands in debt, but if you came out with a starting salary of $75,000 or more i could personally deal with that.
The point is though, with the recent stories and statistics ive been hearing about the majority of people graduating law school and either being unemployeed or having to take some low wage job im starting to wonder is it worth it.

The question is, i guess, how bad off are law school grads? like, are the top 5-10% of law school grads typically offered jobs out of college? Are the graduates of the top law schools in america (Non Ivy) typically offered jobs out of college? And are these statistics really true, or are they just the result of slacking students who didnt achieve the grades needed to get employed?

Dont know if i worded this out correctly or not, but essentially, if your admitted into a good law school (georgetown), and have model grades, are you well off or do you think the probability of employment after college is still slim?

As someone looking to go to law school, the possibility of being underwater in debt and having to settle for a low wage job scares me *****less...

USNWR just released its law schools edition; you can get a lot of information from what’s available on line. You’ll have to decide if it’s moral failure(“slacking”) or a lousy job market that’s responsible for the employment numbers.

Take a look at Law School Transparency as well.

Here is Georgetown (the school mentioned in the OP)

I would suggest majoring in something marketable (not political science) at an affordable school, and forgetting about law school for a while.
