How badly do applicants from your high school hurt your chances?

I am applying to the biomed program at Johns Hopkins, as well as Rice and Cornell. However, one of my best buddies is appying to these three schools and he has better test scores and GPA. Also, a girl with amazing extracurriculars such as working with NASA is applying to all three of these as well who has 2200+ SATs and probably 3.9 unweighted GPA and lots of AP classes.

Im in a high school of ~140 per class and no class rank. Its rated #1 in Ohio for public high schools.

Do their applications hurt, or even destroy my chances of getting into these colleges?

Any ideas????? Seems like my topics never get any replies...

Some will say no, but I think it does hurt some, especially if your school isn't like a feeder school, and even then a lot get rejected. Like at my school, so many people are applying to JHU and notre dame it's not even funny.
