um yeah sorry that was pretty rude on my part just realized sorry :

like i read ivygeek’s post…and he said “we warn students all the time…” so I thought he was an admission officer (or someone like admissionsgeek lol) but the rest of the post didn’t make any sense to me so I thought he was just making up random stuff that didn’t really apply or was true concerning the OP’s question…

but of course I may be totally wrong and I apologize

Fear of getting my acceptance rescinded is 90% of the reason I still try in school. The other 10% is my pride… I guess. haha.

And at my school (for some reason that escapes me) there is no such thing as A- so my transcript looked really good when I sent it in. 90 = A :P

GS is for students who have had an interruption of more than a year in their education. If you just take a gap year, you won’t be eligible for GS, and you’ll have to apply to the college. As far as I know, Columbia, like most other colleges, does allow you to take a gap year between your senior year of high school and your freshman year at Columbia College.

@Pwoods-- Really?! I was talking to my dad about taking a gap year and he seemed genuinely interested. Maybe I’ll discuss this with him. I’ve always wanted time to travel, etc.

it does allow you to take a gap year, some students may choose to take a gap year and then apply, or apply be admitted and then take a gap year.

I am a member of the SEAS 2015. I was admitted via Early Decision to Columbia. Recently, however, I acted in an immature manner. I go to a very competitive New York school, and left very negative comments about an individual who goes to our rival school. Although I concealed my identify, he found out that it was me. He seemed very angry, and would not talk to me. If he reported the comment to the school officials, and I get suspended, will I be rescinded?

I am very paranoid and worried at this moment. ALL suggestions welcome. Please and THank You

An minor in-school suspension, so long as it’s not for academic dishonesty (plagiarism, cheating) probably wouldn’t lead to a rescission. But do you really you’d be suspended for making a negative comment about another student? That seems a bit harsh.

@IHateHarryPotter: Honestly, it doesn’t sound like that big of a deal. If you threatened to kill him or something ridiculous, then you should worry a little. But if it wasn’t a teacher or something, it shouldn’t matter that much. I doubt the kid would report it, anyway. That would be… wow.

Ahh, I got into SEAS ED and I’ve been freaking out about having my acceptance withdrew. It’s so scary Lol.

I mean, I didn’t get in because of my grades at all. I’ve always been a B/A student. So a drop in grades shouldn’t matter THAT much. But, still, it’s scary.
