I really love Rhodes, but I have heard that drinking is a huge part of their culture. If you are not much of a drinker will you still fit in at Rhodes?

I graduated from Rhodes in 2010. At that time (and I don’t have any reason to think it’s different now), Greek life was a pretty big part of the social scene. As part of Greek life, there were frequent mixers and parties where drinking occurred. I really don’t think it would be a big deal if you were not a big drinker. I don’t think anyone would give you a hard time, but you might personally feel uncomfortable if you don’t like being around other people who are drinking. One thing that was great when I was there was that any off-campus Greek mixers or parties always chartered buses so no one was ever drinking and driving.
I just finished my freshman year here. The problem is, the campus is so small, and people don’t seem do have anything better to do than drink. I stayed in my dorm every single weekend this year after going to a few frat parties because I don’t like the party scene, and the parties made me feel so uncomfortable. Also, a lot of sexual assault complaints have been going on recently, especially relating to alcohol use. I will probably be transferring to another school in the fall.
