How can I decline Cornell's offer of admission online?

Hi guys, I've decided today where I want to go to college and unfortunately, it won't be Cornell University. It's nothing personal though, I didn't receive enough financial aid to attend, that's why. I was wondering how I can decline Cornell's offer of admission without having to send the response form that came with the admission packet by mail.

Good luck to those on the waitlist!

I don’t think there is any way you can do it online, but I could be wrong. Good luck with whichever road that you take! :)

I don’t think you can. In your acceptance letter there’s a card that you can fill out indicating that you won’t attend. If you can’t find it, then just don’t do anything. They assume you will not attend

Probably a stupid question, but in general, should we decline the schools we aren’t going to attend, or simply leave it alone?

^As a general rule in life, if you can make someone’s life a little better without harming yourself, then do it. Most schools probably give you a postage-prepaid envelope, so why not take 2 seconds to fill it and send it? It’ll help them keep track of who’s coming to their school.
On the other hand, if they don’t give a prepaid envelope, then don’t do it.

Just my opinion on it.

Go to your application tracking account, and click on “withdraw application.”

but that’s withdrawing the application, not declining the offer… :S can you withdraw after you get an offer?

You know the fancy packet? On the last page, there’s a little card with prepaid envelope. You check the box that says “decline”, write your name, and send it.

I emailed Cornell asking them how to do it online, and they told me to just withdraw my application, like Jalmoreno said.

I just filled out the little card.

Yeah, I withdrew my application as well! Thank you all for your responses!
