Hi, I took the June SAT as a sophomore. Recently, just got my scores back and I got 1450. I got 760 in math, but 690 in reading and writing. Surprisingly, I did equally well in the reading and math sections, but my writing section I did the worst which brought down my score. I’m retaking it in October. I have 2 months to study for it… Will i be able to increase my score to at least a 1520? And how??
I studied for 6 weeks and went from a 1450 to a 1540 so it’s definitely possible. What I think really helped me was taking the lit and math 1 subject test over and over and then going back to the SAT. It really helps you get concepts for math and helps with timing and understanding for reading.
I took about 5 practice tests for each subject test and studied mistakes with a tutor and then 3 SAT practice tests
Take a practice exam everyday for 2-3 weeks and make sure you know why you missed those problems. Then do extra problems and memorize equations or whatever you need to. For CR I would find AP English Language exams online and do the MC. They might be slightly easier though than the current SAT (I don’t know). Read lots of current events and articles and practice essays. Get a good writer you know to grade them.
