How can i spend my financial aid refund?

well. today i just got financial aid refund from school, total around 3000. They suggest me to deposit the money in the school bank card. Not long ago i deposited $500 financial aid in chase bank, and spend some of it in shopping :)
I want to know is it ok to spend your refund money in shopping and buying personal things? Or better to convert them into cash? Im worried college will know what im doing because i dont spend money in doing right things like meals and books etc. and they will stop disturbing refund? Please help?

Well, this would be a good question for the financial aid forum. If you have already covered your meals and books then you can spend it on personal expenses. But remember you may need that money for travel or other expenses. Be careful with it. They don’t stop disbursing it, the amount you get corresponds to the average cost estimates–if you manage to spend less than the average costs estimates then you will have extra.

Do you have ed loans that you need/want to pay off so they don’t accrue interest? Those would be the first things I’d want to use any refund on. Agree that the FAid forum would be a great place to get insightful answers.
