How can you start a successful science bowl club?

Hello, I would like to start a science bowl at my high school, but I am not entirely sure what the process is for doing so.
After that, I am also not completely sure on how I would make it very competitive. Thank you!

Wouldn’t you need a faculty adviser? I’d start there.

My school has one, and it’s mostly upperclassmen. I’m one of the two freshmen. The upperclassmen are really, really funny (more so when the teacher’s not in the room) and super nice.
