and is there some sort of transportation option getting to the airport?

The MBTA trolly has a stop right at BC. You can get on it, and with one switch be at the airport in 90 minutes. Allow a bit longer during crowded hours.

or of you want to get there faster you could take a cab.

Logan (BOS) would be the closest airport. We checked several airports, and found that they had the most flight options and cheapest flights to Chicago (ORD) recently.

Transportation, just follow the directions on the BC site but in reverse. Many options, taxi, bus, shuttles:

You can also fly to Midway from Logan (Southwest is one that flies that route).

thanks all. sounds like a lot of options. anyone know what the best avg price might be to chicago off hand. I can and will ck. just wondering about magnitude of the cost now that I have some assurance that there are solid options.

Just an added thought: My daughter never had to pay for a cab ride by herself. Whenever she was headed to the airport over a break, she was always able to find one or two people who wanted to share a cab. It often ended up only costing about $15-18 per person.
