How cold does Princeton get?

What's the coldest Princeton can get during the school year? I come from a tropical country where it's basically summer all year round. It's not as bad as Harvard or Yale or MIT, is it? (since Princeton is slightly further south)

-thinks longingly about Stanford and its weather-

In the winter, the temperature is usually in the 30's and sometimes dips into the 20's. It rarely goes lower than that.

I live about 45 min from Princeton. It's not quite as bad as the Cambridge area and there tends to be less snowfall that melts quicker here. In the winter temperature hovers in the 30s as Weasel said, and in the summers the norm is in the 80s. You could always check National and Local Weather Forecast, Radar, Map and Report for year averages.

Wheather tends to be more like Philadelphia if you need a city to look up stats for.

It can get down to the teens in the winter and with wind chill it can feel even colder. I live around Princeton and it does get pretty cold, but for only like 2 months of the year like in Jan and Feb. Otherwise it's pretty mild.

The Weather Channel website says the coldest three months are:
December: average high 43, avg low 27
January: avg high 39, avg low 21
February: avg high 41, avg low 24
Remember that the lows represent the temperature in the middle of the night, when you will be warm inside your dorm. Also remember that you will miss a little of the worst weather because you will be gone for winter break.
And as someone who lives near Stanford, let me tell you that the winters here are not very warm at all...I chipped ice off my windshield many mornings this year.

Sorry, no. You will absolutely the lows. No student fails to be out and about at midnight, at least part of the time. This is especially true if you intend on joining the dominant social scene.

Ragingbull, you are making me feel like an ancient mom!
Screwitlah, I guess you need to just buy a great jacket.

yep I definitely will :D
