How come USC is not included in the "Top CC Universities"?

I thought USC is well known and one of the "top" univiesitiy... How come it is not included in the"Top CC Univeristies"? Any idea? what happen?

It's ranked what, #27 by USNWR? But it's been a pretty quick climb...don't worry, in a couple of years I bet it will be.

Ha Ha! We've tried!
<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/393797-why-doesn-t-cc-list-usc-top-university.html?highlight=cc+top+university%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/393797-why-doesn-t-cc-list-usc-top-university.html?highlight=cc+top+university</a></p>

Oh my bad! Didn't know that the thread was already there..
so the top 25 is listed in the "TOP CC Univeristies". hmm.. interesting..

Well UNC Chapel Hill is ranked lower than USC but its still listed

CC: "There's no reason for it, it's just our policy."

Well, it's retarded.

may be UNC was top 25 last yr and CC didn't update it yet..

CC has never updated their list.

They probably figure it will cause more of an uproar if they try to change it.

b.c. USC isn't a top university?...

USC is regarded as more of a top university on the West Coast, but not so much on the East Coast, where I live, I think.. maybe its reputation is more provincial?

I live on the west coast, and USC isn't regarded as a top university. Rather in California, they are UCLA, UCB, UCSD, and Stanford. Many in my school would choose UCD over USC.

I'm not sure, but none of the best students in the schools around here apply even to UCLA or Berkeley.. I think most people don't even know what USC stands for :P , think it's part of the university of cali schools, etc. I agree that the list just hasn't been updated because people would start requesting their own colleges to be on the list, although I think an update is in order.

That's b/c out-of-state tuition and everything are pretty much the same as a typical private college. It's not worth it. I wouldn't either if I had lived beyond California.

USC is one of those schools that has run up the ranks really quickly in the past 10 years. Regardless, it's going to take time for USC to firmly solidify its reputation--especially here on the East Coast--just as it would with any university.

I forgot Caltech and possibly Harvey Mudd in my list... And I take back UCSD. :D

maybe the founders of CC got rejected from USC. who knows lol

or maybe they want to keep usc a secret to all the kids looking at this site to think about where to apply to haha

Its a conspiracy. They want to keep plaid-dressed nerdy forum lurkers away from USC's beautiful people. lol. In all seriousness though, I was surprised with the number of attractive people on campus.

My actual guess is that it has to do with the reputation of the school to the general public. USC has risen in rankings lately and has a number of good departments, but it seems difficult to replace a pre-existing college at that point due to the inevitable truckloads of hatemail from CC lurkers :)

If you want to impress people with USC, but explain the Trojans for a bit. From what I hear, they pwn the field.

@ibtelling - thank your for your amendment... you have spared this thread of the wrath of RocketDA and Seiken ^_^
