I want to write bout a sad love story that actually changed the way I think and behave.
However, I do think that everyone has had some kind of sad love story.
Have you heard bout somebody write about exprience like that?

I don’t think it’s the topic that typically matters, it’s what you write about it.
I’m guessing this is the prompt on how you’ve learned from a failure/disappointment?
It won’t be the only one they read, but I imagine that everyone who picks this topic will write about not making a team, failing a test, or love gone wrong. At your age, those are probably the big forms of failure/disappointment. And that’s OK-- you’re expected to be who you are, and you’re a 17 year old.
Write it and see how it looks. “Unique topic” doesn’t always translate into “great essay.” Write the story of YOU, and it will be unique in the writing.
