Hey! So I’m considering taking a gap year before I attend Princeton next fall, and I luckily have an option outside of a bridge year, but I would absolutely love to be accepted into the program. I doubt I’m the most competitive applicant though - I have some good reasons for applying and hopefully I can translate that into my essays, but I still was accepted to Pton off the waitlist haha. Does anyone have any idea of how difficult it is to be accepted to the program?
@chelys realtalk-Princeton (a tumblr blog by Princeton students - google it) said “pretty competitive”. 12 ppl interviewed for the 7 slots x 5 service areas. https://www.princeton.edu/bridgeyear/meet-the-volunteers/
Writing good essays is the first step.
Good luck,
Psy
It’s really competitive. Also, it absolutely helps if you’re a good writer, because they have all the participants write monthly reflections that the program then publishes on their website and uses as marketing material.
Best of luck.
