<p>My S and his friends found the LA internship program helpful although mostly busy work. They had the opportunity to work in a variety of places, meet people, and observe things. There are many Northwestern graduates who work in TV/Radio/Film in the LA area -- called "the Northwestern Mafia". My S was surprised that not more TV/Film/Radio majors participate in the LA internship program. The Internship director at that time was terrific and great at placing the kids. My S says there's a different Internshiip director now and her background and focus are different.</p>
<p>I don't know if you can answer this (thank you for all the information so far, though!), but what would you say the focus of Northwestern's film program is? I mean, if NYU is the art and USC is the business (I realize that I'm generalizing, but that's the basic idea), then what would Northwestern be? I'm most interested in the art, so I'm curious...</p>
