Applied to Westmont and was accepted- love the location, that’s definitely the largest factor in my considering the school (i wanna be by the coast!), however I understand that most christian colleges are quite conservative. I grew up in a christian household, however i myself am not super religious anymore, I’ll still go to church once in a while but the high school i go to now is very liberal and i think i would like that in a college (e.g. more diversity and acceptance, having people with all different views, etc). so obviously i don’t want to go to a super conservative college but I would love to know where westmont falls on that scale.
Check out Niche (CC won’t let me post the links). They rate Westmont as the 8th most conservative college in CA. Reading the student reviews for “what type of student shouldn’t go here” (again can’t post the link ) will give you a good feel for if it’s the right fit.
You may want to look up whether its student conduct code has things like required attendance of religious services or other religious based rules (e.g. regarding sexual activity, LGBTQ, etc.).
You can see some of the rules and expectations of Westmont College at the bottom of this page: https://www.westmont.edu/_student_life/student_handbook/community-life-statement.html . There is also a link to a more detailed student handbook at https://www.westmont.edu/_student_life/student_handbook/documents/08.10.172017-2018StudentHandbook.pdf .
