How did you guys enjoy your high school life so far?

@asianeekamkee That’s weird…and yeah, it is almost over! Where are you going to college?

I’m a sophomore. I didn’t particularly like sophomore year. I’m super excited for Junior year though! I just want to head off to college already. yeesh

I keep killing myself during this AP season. Why does my DNA have to be the same as James “Logan” Howlett?!?!?!?!?!

Woe is me…

till the 15th

Never gave an effort and still got a perfect GPA, high scores, and numerous accolades. Oh, aptitude, how I love you.

STRESSFUL!

But, looking back, it’s all worth it :slight_smile: good luck to those still stuck in high school next year!

Miserable.

Hated 95% of people in the school. Everyone was too immature for me.

Worked hard. Got near 4.0 GPA, great SAT score but in the end, I am going to same college with people that had 1700 SAT and 3.2 GPA.

Hard work was not worth it AT ALLL !

@XtremePower
Correct me if I’m wrong since I’m stereotyping you with people in my school, but here’s my opinion. I’ve dealt with plenty of people with your mindset, the so called “I’m better and smarter than everyone else”. I’m sorry but it’s simply not true. The fact that you think people are too immature for you means that you lack social skills and are immature yourself. Social skills and the ability to fit in and actually be friends with people are a big part of life. It’s not just all about smarts.

I had an amazing time at my school. I made friends that I wouldn’t give up for the world. They picked me up when I was down, and that’s something I will never forget. Yes some of them are “immature” but who cares? I’m happy to finally be going off to college since my school is ****ty and doesn’t care about actual education, but I’m sad to not be able to spend time with my friends anymore. I’ve known most of them for more than 10 years now, and it sucks thinking that my tight knit group is finally getting split up.

@XtremePower:
Same boat: 1550 SAT and lower 3.x GPA school as well.
Barely missed top 10 instead of being salutatorian thanks to English (val sort of took advantage of the system / only had 1 GPA affecting period on her schedule at some times)

But bwah, I tore it up piece by piece. There were fun moments, but there was a lot of hard work. Yah, raging at the top 10 and how easy it is in the math/science courses and why only the valedictorian is the only one good at those subjects. 2 people got straight A’s in AP chemistry yet got 1s or 2s on the AP exam (multiple times as they retook it), yet they’re top 10, it’s rageworthy. The Calc BC teacher bumped up grades about 2% and at least 5 of the people that moved from a B to an A were in the top 10–oh we had easy Calculus AB review tests to help the grades as well.

Freshman!
This year’s been a mix for me. Socially, it’s been a perfect year! Coming to a private high school knowing practically no one, I managed to adapt fairly easily and make so many friends. On the otherhand, my grades have plummeted quite a bit. This semester was the first time I’ve gotten a B as a grade… let alone 3! Luckily, freshman year grades are somewhat pointless, and I now have a good idea how hard I need to work sophomore year.

Woah. Simmer Down there, Bertha.

I said I worked harder than some other people. Don’t make up stuff.

Great personal attack. What do you want me to do ? Insult you back ?
Nah. I am much more mature than that. I also follow the forum rules.

:(

Not really. They will bring your overall GPA down and most colleges do look at freshman grades.

’'Great personal attack. What do you want me to do ? Insult you back ?
Nah. I am much more mature than that."

Ironic isn’t it? Pretty much proves that I’m right about your elitist attitude. Just a word of advice, I was a lot like this in my middle school days and early high school days. I learned that there is no need to try to act like you’re better than people and constantly remind people that you are. If you really truly are smarter or more mature, then people will notice without you having to flaunt it around. And believe it or not, people will finally start to give proper recognition to that, rather than get annoyed by it.

As for going to the same school as these kids with low test scores and gpas, it happens. I would use the whole “life is unfair” saying but it’s really not unfair in this situation. You developed a better work ethic and will do better than them in college, which is where it really counts.

@Extreme
I’m gonna kill myself. Not literally, but still. If I’m struggling freshman year, who knows how badly these next couple of years are gonna go! I think it’s the most ridiculous thing that we get homework despite fully understanding the concept. It’s just busy work and a waste of time that can be spent doing something productive. And correct me if I’m wrong, but most UCs don’t even look at freshman year grades.

“Pretty much proves that I’m right about your elitist attitude.”

Hah. So, acting mature by not insulting back is being elitist ? Thank you ! I learned valuable lesson today.

That’s right. They calculate their own UC GPA. So, if you are applying to UC’s only, you are saved.

Haha have fun going to a college you hate because you’re too mature for your classmates.

Let’s stop the insults before it gets too ugly :)

^Spot on. ProvStudent is pretty annoyed now.

BTW, I love my college. Why would I go to a college that I hate ?

Well, our school started using standards based grading, which was a god-send to the smart, lazy students. Made my life a whole lot easier. 6 days left of school, and i cant wait to be rid of my parents (im only joking a little).

Never studied. took all honors and APs got a 31 (without studying) got picked for all kinds of leadership nerd things, got elected to leadership things, didn’t study some more, got a job. Basically no studying at all, twas fun and i’m ready for college.

I’m a junior, but I’m obsessed with the college search and applications because I want so badly to get out of the spiral of life at home. There have been some good moments over my high school career so far, but now I just want to leave.

For most of this year I’ve been so ready to be out of high school. Now that its down to the last couple weeks, I’m realizing how much I’m going to miss it. I’m not going to school with any friends from my school, so its going to be weird. Senior year has been great though, probably the best year of my life.
