I adore Tufts. I love, love, love the school. I'm having such a hard time expressing even the jist of why I love Tufts in just 50 words. I could handle maybe 70-75 or so... but 50 is just so short. What kind of approach did you/will you take to keep your answer pithy?

This is only 39 words. ;)

I know haha… but I want to get across WHY I love Tufts, not just THAT I love Tufts.

I came across an old thread by Dan, and he says that even if our responses end up being 100 or 150 words, that’s okay. The threads a couple of years old. Is this still true? What if I go slightly over 150? (I can go shorter, but there’s a lot I hoped to get in there and I really like my longer response…)

Thoughts?

Keep in mind that everyone is dealing with the same constraints you are. I think it’s a little ridiculous that they want that one to be so short, but 100-150 words is two to three times longer than the “desired” length, so I’d try not to make it quite that long.

As far as actually writing it, what I did was think of one or two reasons (out of many) why I thought Tufts was a good fit for me and focused on that. If they want it to be that short they can’t expect something comprehensive, anyways.

Yeah… I don’t know. I’m just wondering if Dan’s statement from 2 years ago that it’s okay to go over the limit still applies.

It doesn’t matter; we’re now restricted by 500 characters I believe.

I only have 70 words, but somehow managed to have over 500 characters with the spaces…ARGH!

I think mine ended up at about 65 words. 100-150 words is a bit ridiculous, considering that it is 2 to 3 times what they ask for.

My son had 64 words. He could probably have gotten rid of 14 words, but I didn’t think he’d get zinged for it.
