How different is World History Subject Test from AP World History?

Title.

I'm currently taking AP World History and I've been told that the best time for me to take the subject test for it is right after the course (so in June).

Anyway, how different is the AP test from the subject test? Will I have to study in a totally separate way for the subject test or will my studies from the AP test suffice?

Side question, would it be smarter to wait until the November/December subject test to give me more time to study or would it be best to take it in June? (Ironically I might be out of the country on the SAT test date so I might be forced to wait 6 more months but input would be great)

I think I heard that there’s more details or something like that or more analysis. I don’t really remember.

SAT covers less of time but more detail oriented. Friend got 3 on AP exam but 740 on SAT. It really depends on how detail oriented you are

My D got a 5 on the AP but only 700 on the subject test. She took the course and studied the Princeton Review book for the AP but we just mistakenly assumed that would cover prep for the subject test as well. She would agree the subject test was more detail oriented.
