How Difficult Are These Courses?

Hi, I have made a tentative schedule for fall, and I am wondering if anyone can give any input on ANY of these courses. Even if you just took one or heard of it, let me know and hopefully it helps others too.

Calc 1
Green World/Blue Planet
Intro to Micro (Wissink)
Marketing (McLaughlin)

Thanks so much!

Calc 1 shouldn’t be that bad. Neither should Micro or Marketing. But not sure, you might want to look up those profs on ratemyprofs is possible. Green World/Blue Planet has a median of A+, so I’m assuming it’s pretty easy.

marketing is going to be harder than you would think. The median grades are low so if you want a B+ or higher make sure to study a lot, do the extra credit, or just do well on the project and get an A+

micro was a joke in my opinion but i had a different professor. calc 1 is also pretty easy i thought. but that depends on if you like math or not.

Bump. Thanks so far, but still looking for more!

i’m taking the green blue class cause i heard its MAD EASY. its just a filler for my CALS requirement lol

Green World/Blue Planet is supposed to be a joke and I suppose the A+ median grade suppports that contention.

Intro Micro is very easy. You don’t really have to go to lecture and Wissink doesn’t give homework.

Bumperstiltskins! This has actually helped very much, but still looking for some more!

my roomate didn’t like wissink’s teaching style, haven’t had her myself though so this is second hand

yeah econ is hit or miss…it’s up to you to learn it on your own…

TAs are invaluable…as is section…you can also take the supplement econ course and also get a tutor i think

Wissink’s intro micro site from the spring is at [intro micro wissink](http://www.arts.cornell.edu/econ/wissink/econ1110jpw/). She will probably use the same lecture slides, so if you are still curious about the difficulty of the class, you may want to take a look.

Wow, I’m taking similar courses…anyone else have any opinions?

You’ll be fine with all those classes.

Tip on the Marketing class though: Memorize everything. The words that come out of McLaughlin’s mouth, the speakers he brings in, and everything in the textbook (even the little tab/text boxes that you may just skip over). His marketing exams are sometimes detailed. If you got good memorization … then this class will be easy. Otherwise, people do flashcards or make flow charts/mnemonic devices to memorize lists.
