How do admission officers look at QB finalists during the National College Match? Are we compared with the rest of the early decision pool? Do they take into account the QB Finalist status and see it that we are financially disadvantaged? Would they look at EFC and tax forms and such?
I am applying to Columbia, Pomona, USC, and Northwestern by the way. Any comments are appreciated!
Yea, I had the exact same question. Are schools less inclined to match students compared to letting them in early action? Or are they just equal?
@timothytebow I am not sure, but @CottonTales mentioned in another thread that “Questbridge applicants are not compared to the “normal” ED applicant pool. Your application will be in a different pile and reviewed separately.”
Questbridge Match results come out December 1st, a full 2 weeks before EA or ED decisions. I assume that the partner schools have to have their match lists at LEAST a week before that to Questbridge so they can run the lists to their match algorithm. Logic tells you that QB apps were reviewed way before regular EA or ED applicants, in their own application pile.
I’m pretty sure we are considered separately from the rest of the applicant pool due to time restraints but I’m curious if those that are matched are considered in the early decision applicant acceptance rates or not
