Hey guys,
I think this is a really important question about college admissions. For me, in a school that accepts about 30% Ivy League students, it gets really competitve and I fear that colleges place a limit on how many qualified students to accept.
But in actuality, when colleges look at an applicant, what factors in order are most important in making comparisions?
I guess how would you rank the most important in which group colleges make comparisions of: state, ethnicity, SAT range, GPA range, region, school, gender?? Any ideas
Personally, I am Asian and I do not fit any significant hook, however, I would like to know still how they rank them. Personally, I am looking at Duke, Penn, Georgetown, and Northwestern.
Thanks.

Applications are first read by the schools regional admission director, so yes, they are broken down regionally. The adcoms for these regions are very familiar with "their schools" and the caliber of student that attends them.
