How do Colleges Look at Grades?

I took a few extra classes in my high school over the summer which were on-level classes. This made my weighted gpa go down even though I took 15 AP classes and got As in them. Now my weighted gpa is a 4.4. Will colleges look at my classes and see that I took a lot of AP classes and understand why my weighted gpa is lower or will I be at a disadvantage because of those extra classes that I took?

Unless you are looking at schools that highly value class rank (e.g Texas), then no.
