Hi,
I've heard that colleges use a quanititative ranking for high schools to differentiate GPA and class rank from one school to another.

Is that true, and is there any way to see how my high school stacks up?

Thanks!

For top schools, few things in admissions are quantitative, and I can’t think of a reason why “ranking” high schools would be any different. Some high schools have close ties to certain colleges through their GC; some are known for preparing their kids to write good essays/do scientific research/whatever; still others are entirely unknown by adcoms. The important thing to remember is that you are evaluated in the context of your environment.
