How do colleges see my cumulative GPA if I transferred to a different high school sophomore year?

Hi,

My sophomore year I transferred from one private school to another much more prestigious, difficult private school. My GPA my freshman year at my old school was 4.67, but of course my GPA has dropped a ton since then because of a different scale (4.0 scale w/ unweighted only) and the classes being much harder. I understand that when I submit grades to colleges I will send my new school transcript + my old school’s transcript for freshman year, but will colleges seeing my cumulative GPA calculated by my new school put me at a disadvantage?

My daughter went to one school 9-10 grades with 0-100 grading. Then she went to another and did an IB Diploma for 11-12 grades which is 0-7. Never knew what her 4.0 scale GPA was…colleges figure it out. The only time there was an issue was for our State Flagship which awards scholarships based on GPAs , but a quick email sorted that out. So send your transcript and the college will figure it out.
Also, both schools will send a description of the school so colleges will figure it out.
