<p>My classmate boasted that he spent 20 hours/week for the school orchestra for 52 weeks/year even for all 4 years in high school even though he's not even in orchestra this year, and school is definitely not 52 weeks long. Will colleges actually believe this? How sharp/strict are they with what we say in our apps?</p>
<p>That, I think, is overdoing it. What I did is I averaged my REAL time (yes, I did the math) and actually made the # a bit lower.</p>
<p>As for how sharp/strict, I’m sure they don’t check, but there are some #s that won’t look right, so be wary of making your numbers larger than they actually are.</p>
