At this point I'm a White Male American dying to get into Oxford. I'm a junior in high school and this is how things are up to this point.

Do I take and send SAT IIs? Do I take more APs? Do I start prepping essays way ahead of time? Do I have a shot at all?

Yes to SAT IIs. More APs cannt hurt.

I think the interview is very important so might want to get your interview skills on.

I don't think they ask for SAT IIs.

What are my chances of getting an interview? How can I improve them?

With those stats I would say you have a good shot of getting an interview (although I know that oxford interview less people than cam). You've got all the right subjects at AP for PPE, those being economics and maths. There's not a whole lot else to say, other than read lots in the newspapers/books about different topics in philosophy, politics and econ to give yourself a good shot at interview. There is also a practice paper somewhere on the net, I think your performance on the written test is quite important..

Oh, don't worry about the essay too much (or as we call it a personal statement) it's just telling them why you want to study PPE and a small amount about extra-curriculars.
I applied to econ at cambridge sucessfully, if you think it would be of help you can have a look at my Personal statment. (i wouldnt advise plagiarism though, an American who plays county cricket may quite easily be seen through)

Calling yourself an "UGLY AMERICAN" helps. Apply as the school mascot.

As coffeenchicory1 didn't pick up on it... the plagiarism comment was a JOKE (i.e. I am making no assumptions about the OP). I thought the irony about an american playing county cricket would be quite easy to see through...

I have to submit two samples of marked written work, it appears. What should these be? How important are they?

They should be two pieces of work that were set for a normal class [i.e.not specially written for oxford] that are in some way relevant to the course. for PPE just about any essay would do. I would probably say that an essay from either econ, philo or politics would be best, but history would also be absolutely fine.

They are actually pretty important. They won't get you in alone, but bad written work, particularly from a good school, will get you knocked off the interview list quite quickly.

Plastic surgery.

What SAT IIs do they want from me? Or do they just want high numbers?

They make their offer based on AP's - take the SAT II's only for your US backup schools. From what I can see in your stats, with a decent interview/test/written work, you are set for an unconditional offer. Keep up the good work.

give up mcDonalds, and prove you are not fat...or show them your nice straight teeth. Im proud to be an American (what can i say, i love how we all have straight teeth).

Jeez. how many AP classes did you take? that's a little bit mind-boggling. i'm a junior, and i thought that applying for PPE was at least an option. and i'm only taking five AP exams this year and probably five next year. did you start AP's when you were like seven?
damn.

What's PPE?

Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

Kay. Thanks :)

I'm also really interested in PPE; how is it regarded internationally and in UK?

kid, you sound a little arrogant. maybe work on that first.
