so i def dont wanna be a doctor...yet i love my volunteering at the hospital and i want to become a lawyer so that i can help ppl out...

do i need to go to med school as well as law school? are there many ppl who do this? im assuming the edu is expensive as frick...

what do u think?

In what capacity? Medical malpractice -- either plaintiff (patient) or defense (dr.). Corporate? Those are the avenues.

can uexplain what corporate does?

jeparles, read the thread on "corporate lawyers."

CD

Jeparle: That's a wonderful ambition. No, you don't have to go to medical school to work in that area, but to be effective you will have to develop knowledge in the area. So, for example, you might take undergraduate courses in public health or some other health care subject (or nursing school) to understand how hospitals work and what considerations go into medcal care. A knowledge of anatomy ought to help, also. Look at colleges that teach medical/health care subjects at the undergrad level.

But always be aware that your interests might change. Just read an article this morning about a woman who was heading for a careeer as a ballerina when she developed an intense interest in mathematics, and is currently an award-winning junior college math professor.
