Okay I am having a dilemma.

I want to be a lawyer. I'm interested in corporate law with the big companies so i can take all their money!! lol
I'm in high school right now. Im just trying to figure out what I wanna major in. Cause I was thinking psychology....I'm mean yes I'm leaning towards law, because thats what I've been wanting to do for like ever. But i want to make some real mula!! I don't want to be in debt.

And I love that when your a lawyer you get to argue( hehehehehehehe)

But I heard that most new lawyers dont have a job out of law school because of the plethora of lawyers ???

So I was like hey, why not be a doctor, I'm a people person, and working in a hospital is cool!

And with being a doctor, I love anatomy! I wanted to be a surgeon, preferably a heart or brain surgeon. I enjoy being around people and helping. Knowing what to do if someone is injured and being able to cure them or treat them if their sick.

But then I heard Med school is long, and tiring, and I wont even have time for a family during my career

THATS NOT WHAT I WANTT!

I'm confused...I need some advice please

I admit I’m no expert, but I’ve been doing a lot of research on this kind of thing, so I guess I’ll throw my opinion in.

Law requires a lot of commitment, so it’s crucial you know what you’re getting into before you make that choice. It’s a ton of money to go to law school. You need a high GPA to get to a good school. Law school itself is a lot of work - intense reading and a lot of technical writing. It’s not going to be that much oral debate, contrary to what many (including myself before) think. You could make a lot of money, but only if you’re really good at it (go to top school or rank really high, etc) and you work long hours. It can be very stressful, so it’s up to you whether that money is worth it. But having said all that, law is a great career path (I’m interested) and it can be rewarding if you know what you’re getting into and you like it.

I know I wanted to do medicine when I was a kid. But once I took Biology and Medical Science in high school, I figured it’s not for me. Too much memorization. I ended up preferring Physics because you actually apply your own logic instead of just accepting things. I guess what my point here would be that whether you want to do medicine is just up to what you personally enjoy. And yeah like you said, Med School requires lots of hours. But money wise, it is rewarding. I know a relative who is a doctor, is married to a doctor, and recently bought a million dollar home.

But yeah just do something based on what you’re interested. If you really want to make money, one other option is going into business or finance. Or become a manager. Just find something that suits your interests though.

I think you should get a clear understanding of what a lawyer is and does before choosing to go to law school. Arguing is probably one of the last things they get to do, unless you mean arguing with themselves over why they became a lawyer after pouring over thousands of pages of documents daily.

There is a lot of argument (persuasion) - in writing. The vast majority of decisions are made based on documents, not on anything uttered in a court room. Except on television, the best lawyers are the ones who can set forth cogent legal arguments on paper. Attention to detail in research and crafting the position is key.

^ Persuasion by paper!

=/…I don’t like writing as it is. But then writing a 100 page or more paper…thats a lot…=/

I’m gearing towards med a little more now.lol

But what about Malpractice? Can someone explain this concept to me?
